Awkward Fit Jul 28, 2010 This product is strangely cut and a very awkward fit for anyone with any sort of meat on their bones. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're tall and skinny.

like, and needs improvemnet Jul 22, 2010 It was said before, but yes...when I first took the dress out of the package, it looked like a pillow case. But I tried it on, and it is super cute/sexy. It is casual, and you can dress it up with a chunky belt and heals. I really like the dress, and it looks better on than in the picture shown. The down side is the the bottom edges roll up, and ironing won't help. I so wish this had better hemming, because then it would be perfect. It's a cute dress that is worth what i\I paid for it.
love this dress!! Jul 07, 2010 i rarely write reviews, so this dress must be something awesome for me to go to the effort!
i originally bought the striped version of this as i was looking for cute loose fitting clothing to wear while pregnant. i like american apparel because it doesn't have gaudy decals, designs or brand names splattered all over it, but couldn't bring myself to pay their price for something i knew would be so simple. the price on here is perfect and since then i've bought another dress in asphalt and a racerback dress as well.
what i love most about this dress is that it fit true to size when i was only about 3 months pregnant and barely showing. i normally have a small, but curvy frame (5'1, 110 lbs, 34a). now that i'm 6 months pregnant, the dress is even more flattering, hugging my baby belly just right and still just as cute everywhere else. i've made a vow not to buy any maternity clothes so pieces like this are perfect since i know i will be able to wear it long after i've had my baby. it's comfy, sexy and doesn't look like a maternity muu'muu.. (i've been told i look like a really hip pregnant lady many times while wearing this!)
the dress looks best over a pair of leggings since it's pretty short. i've seen some people complain that it looks cheap because the edges curl up, but i personally love that it does that. it gives it a little bit of an 'edge' and fits in well where i live where you want to look "cool", but not like you put a lot of effort into it. haha. i'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a simple dress.
i added a photo to the image gallery too so everyone can see the fit!
Suprised but not. Jul 03, 2010 Knew AA stuff runs small, what I wanted and was expecting from reading other reviews was something slightly blousy around the top and middle yet snug in the hips legs and bottom with maybe a thinner more flexible material (the word viscose comes to mind). I ordered the XL and what I got was closer to a cotton cocktail dress. Granted, I also have some "moving to Texas" weight gain to get over but I'm pleased nontheless. Price was okay, closer to what one should pay for something like this than the AA website sells it for and it shipped really quick. Guess it's time to cut out the breakfast tacos and buttery curries my new neighborhood has to offer.
